Creation of an aviation cargo hub: A new perspective for the economy of Kazakhstan

The German company The Hansa Consortium is considering the possibility of building an airport project in Khorgos. The company's management expressed the initiative at a meeting with the management of the Khorgos-Eastern Gate SEZ, Zhetysu Invest LTD LLP and the SEZ ICBC Khorgos. During the meeting, prospects for the development of infrastructure projects were discussed, including the construction of airfields and airports, as well as food industry facilities. Earlier, construction began on a cargo-passenger airport in Khorgos, for which 754 hectares have already been reserved. Company representatives also visited factories in the SEZ and the KTZE-Khorgos Gateway port. The parties signed a memorandum of cooperation.
