Kazakhstan will host the ICAO Regional Symposium on the ICAO Traveler Identification Programme for the first time

From the 6th to the 8th of December 2023, the ICAO Traveler Identification Programme (ICAO TRIP) will hold a Regional Symposium on traveler identification management in Almaty. International experts and top managers of industry, as well as representatives from ICAO TRIP working groups and international organizations, will examine passenger identification management challenges.

The Regional Symposium TRIP will give an opportunity to strengthen international and regional cooperation and collaboration in addressing international civil aviation threats. This event, hosted by the Government of Kazakhstan, will focus on the five elements of the ICAO TRIP Strategy: robust evidence of identity processes, machine readable travel document (MRTD) standards, specifications, and best practices, secure travel document issuance, information sharing technologies, and health proof issuance and validation.

An exhibition will be held in conjunction with the event, showcasing a variety of products and services, particularly those linked to travel document security applications and border control systems.

The Civil Aviation Committee and Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan JSC organize the Regional Symposium TRIP, which is supported by the Border Service of the National Security Committee, Committee of migration service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry, airports in Astana and Almaty, JSC "Air Astana", JSC "SCAT Airlines", JSC "QAZAQ AIR", JSC "Academy of Civil Aviation" and JSC "NC "Kazakh Tourism".
