The 32nd meeting of the Aeronautical Meteorology Group was held in Paris at the ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office

The 32nd Meeting of the Aeronautical Meteorology Group (METG/32) of the European Region Aviation System Planning Group (EASPG) was held in Paris at the ICAO EUR/NAT Regional Office.
The working group was attended by 80 experts from 36 states, as well as 5 international organizations (European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), International Federation of Airline Pilots’ Associations ( IFALPA)).
“Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan” JSC (AAK) was represented at the meeting by aviation inspectors for meteorological flight support of the Air Navigation Department.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to the issue of implementation, transition and dissemination of operational meteorological information in digital format IWXXM, which is being implemented by the Republic of Kazakhstan. Mr. Nino Gelovani, PT/EAST ICAO team leader, noted Kazakhstan’s successful transition to the global reporting format for runway surface conditions (GRF) and the removal of friction coefficient information from METAR/SPECI reports.
In addition, ICAO working groups actively discussed the release of a new ICAO PANS-MET document and 81 Amendments to ICAO Annex 3, which are expected in 2023.
