The Boeing 747 is the most famous jet aircraft in history. The first Boeing was operated in 1969, becoming the largest commercial airliner in the world. The distinctive "hunchback" shape can still be seen today at airports around the world, but more often in a "remote" parking areas.
It became known that global cargo carrier Atlas Air will receive its last Boeing 747 by December, 2022. Boeing expected to sell 300 747-8s, but only 150 aircrafts were sold out. It should be noted, most passenger airlines are choosing Airbus jumbo jets in the 21st century.
Meanwhile, cargo carriers choose the 747-8 jets because of their ability to operate over 20 years, which means an aircraft will be operating for decades. In fact, such airlines as Asiana, Air China, Lufthansa and Korean Air are still using them even today.
