From twenty aircraft, ten will be leased from a leaseholder “Avolon” from Ireland, while as the remaining ten aircraft the carrier will purchase directly from Airbus.
The current 21 A330 aircraft of the airline, part of the Oneworld alliance, will be decommissioned and replaced by the first A330neo as early as 2024.
The aircraft, powered by the Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engine, are capable of carrying 300 passengers in a two-class “luxury layout” throughout Asia, the Pacific and the Middle East. The acquisition of the A330neo is a natural transition from the fleet’s current flagship - the A330. The modernization and increasing operational efficiency are important, but not the only benefits that the A330neo will provide. It will also help the airline achieve its environmental goals by reducing fuel consumption per one passenger. The A330neo is the most economical premium liner in its size category with a spacious, quiet cabin and multiple layout options.
