Information on opening flights to Vietnam

Mr. Talgat Lastayev, the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, met with Mr. Pham Thai Ny Mai, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Kazakhstan and Mr. Nguyen Chi Tam, the representative of “Vietjet Air” to discuss issues on the resumption of regular passenger flights between Kazakhstan and Vietnam. During the meeting, the party of Vietnam expressed its readiness to carry out regular passenger flights to Kazakhstan.

So, on October 10 this year it is planned to open the first flight of the airline “Vietjet Air” on the route Cam Ranh - Almaty. Moreover, the airline plans to launch flights from Cam Ranh to Nur-Sultan. The flights will be operated 2-3 times a week by Airbus A-330 aircraft.

At the present time, the “Vietjet Air” airline is preparing for accreditation as a foreign air carrier in Kazakhstan. The parties noted the importance of direct flights for the further development of trade, economic, investment, tourism and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue work on the resumption of direct regular flights between Kazakhstan and Vietnam.
