Airbus and Boeing will have a competitor from China

Chinese state company Comac (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China) has created a medium-haul narrow-body aircraft C919 that can compete with the Airbus A220, A320 and Boeing 737 aircrafts.

According to Airbus' CEO Guillaume Faury, China needs much more time to develop capabilities in this area and prove the reliability of the aircraft in order to be a leader with significant dominance. At the same time, there's a fear of being dominated by a Chinese behemoth that sparked an attempt by a large number of orders for the C919.

It is clarified, that Comac has completed certification test program of the C919, designed to operate 168 passengers over a distance of more than 5,500 km.
