Brazilian manufacturer Embraer has hired Japanese auto giant Toyota to improve production efficiency at Embraer's headquarters in Sao Jose dos Campos. The company's goal is to shorten E-Jet delivery times and accelerate various phases of the assembly process.

The company believes that the mutual cooperation will eliminate waste and drive efficiencies for shareholders. The Head of Embraer Francisco Gomes Neto called cooperation with a Japanese corporation an excellent opportunity to introduce the waste-free production. One of the key principles is timeliness, whereby the supply of components are provided at the right time and in the required quantity.

Embraer intends to reduce the cycle time of one aircraft by 40% in 2023, according to the company's representative. Each assembly phase should take no more than 2 days.
