Topical issues of regulatory and legal support for the operation of unmanned aircraft systems were discussed in Baku

On the basis of the Interstate Council on Aviation and the Airspace Use of the States Parties to the Agreement (Interstate Council), the III International Scientific and Practical Conference “Regulatory and Legal Support of the Air Traffic Management and the Airspace Use by Unmanned Aircraft Systems, the Flight Safety” was held in the Republic of Azerbaijan in Baku. The 23rd meeting of the Air Navigation Coordinating Commission and the meeting of the Work Group on the development of regulatory documents for the functioning of unmanned aircraft systems were also held. The conference has become a platform for the mutual exchange of experience between the participants.

The conference presented “Analysis of the aviation authorities’ activities and UAV operators within the framework of the current rules for UAV operation in the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The problem moments and solutions”. The participants noted the actual continuity of the report presented by the Aviation Administration and took an active part in the discussion of issues.

The event was attended by more than 60 representatives of the civil aviation authorities of the States Parties to the IAC Agreement, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), air navigation services enterprises of air traffic, aviation training institutions and representatives of the aviation industry - developers of automated air traffic control systems.

Topical issues of regulatory and legal support for the operation of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), flight safety and personnel training were considered. The conference participants emphasized the need to develop technical requirements for UAS at the interstate level, noting that their development would harmonize the common approach of the States Parties, and also emphasized the importance of the conducted event for flight safety and civil aviation development of the region.
