Boeing launches the ecoDemonstrator

The American manufacturer Boeing has presented its new invention - the ecoDemonstrator 2022. This is a converted 777-200ER, 20 years old, which will test modern ideas and technologies. This summer, the ecoDemonstrator will begin operating both on the ground and in the air within six months.

Apart from technologies, there are projects aimed at reducing fuel consumption, harmful emissions and noise. Experiments will be carried out with new fire extinguishing equipment on board by providing greenhouse gas abatement. Pilots will be able to use an enhanced vision system for more efficient operation.

Over the 10 years of the ecoDemonstrator program, Boeing has tested 230 technologies, aimed at reducing zero emissions, improving the reliability, safety and passenger service. According to environmental reports, aviation generates 2-3 percent of global CO2 emissions. Most airlines have already pledged to launch carbon neutral flights and explore alternative fuels to reduce environmental pollution.
