The third largest global aviation alliance Oneworld will soon be replenished with a new member. This week, Muscat-based carrier Oman Air announced that it will join the group consisting of 13 airlines, thereby becoming a part of the world's largest aviation alliances.

By joining Oneworld, Oman Air can offer its customers a wide range of travel options worldwide through partners such as American Airlines, British Airways and Qantas. In addition to countless connections with partner airlines, frequent flyers will enjoy all the benefits of other members of the Alliance, both in terms of earning and redeeming miles. The accession process will be completed in 2024.

Currently, Oman Air is operating to 50 destinations, including major cities such as London and Bangkok. The airline has a fleet of 50 aircrafts, ranging from the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to the Airbus A330 and Boeing 737. In recent years, the Oneworld alliance has increased through the accession of Alaska Airlines and Royal Air Maroc, losing the South American LATAM and the Russian S7 Airlines.
