As part of the work on the further resumption and opening of international traffic and the removing of restrictive measures in the world, the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the People's Republic of China, has worked out the issue of resumption regular passenger flights between Kazakhstan and China.
So, for the first time since 2020, the Kazakhstan airline “Air Astana”, starting from July 1 of this year, resumes regular passenger flights on the Almaty-Chengdu route with a frequency of 1 flight per week on Fridays. Also, from July 7 this year, an additional flight on Fridays will be added. The flights will be operated by Boeing-767 and A321 NEO aircraft.
In turn, from the side of the PRC, the “China Southern Airlines” plans to resume regular passenger flights on the Almaty-Urumqi route from July 1 of this year with a frequency of 1 flight per week on Fridays. The flights will be operated by Boeing-737 and Boeing-787 aircraft.
The resumption of air traffic between Kazakhstan and China will accelerate the development of trade, economic, investment, tourism and cultural cooperation between the two friendly countries, and also contributes to the full use of the planned 14-day visa-free regime for Chinese citizens.
It should be noted that the flights will be operated in strict compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements and in accordance with the schedule published on the airline's website.
