Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport was recognized as the best regional airport in Central Asia/CIS at the World Airport Awards. The award was presented at the passenger terminal of EXPO in Paris on June 16, 2022.

“We congratulate Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport on this well-deserved reward as the best Regional Airport in Central Asia/CIS in 2022. The last two years have been unprecedented and disruptive for airports worldwide, which had coped with various COVID-19 limitations and a severe contraction of demand for a number of destinations. As air operations are quickly restored, the highest standards are successfully resolved at Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport,” Edward Plaisted said, the CEO of Skytrax.

The World Airport Awards is the most prestigious award in the aviation industry, whereby customers vote in the largest annual survey.

“The award is considered the standard of quality in the global aviation industry, customer service is evaluated at 550 airports worldwide. The survey and awards are independent of any airport control or influence. We are pleased to receive this highest award,” Gabit Tazhimuratov stated, the Chairman of the Board of "Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport" JSC.
