Turkish Airlines canceled free baggage allowance

Created on 15.06.2022 08:53

Turkish Airlines canceled free baggage allowance in Economy Class for tickets purchased at the lowest EcoFly fare. The new regulations apply to medium-haul international flights. The cheapest economy class ticket includes only the carriage of hand luggage (8 kg) and one personal item (camera, camcorder, small hand bag or laptop).

The ability to choose a seat in advance was also removed from the fare: you will need to pay for it or get a seat during check-in. Exchange or refund tickets are not available even after paying the fines. Such booking actions can only be provided if the carrier cancels a flight or significantly changes the schedule.

Turkish Airlines has remained one of the largest carriers in the European market, which until recently allowed free baggage allowance on medium-haul flights even at the lowest fares. A baggage is currently included in all Economy Class fares on long-haul flights. However, it cannot be excluded that the airline will also cancel luggage on long-distance routes, as the major European airlines Lufthansa, Air France and KLM.
