From May 13, flights will be doubled between Kazakhstan and Turkey

The aviation authorities of two countries will hold a meeting on issues regarding the number of flights and route network, according to the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Uskenbaev. As for cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkey, the Head of the MIID stated that scheduled flights between two countries are currently operated with a frequency of 61 flights per week under the Intergovernmental Agreement on Air Communication. Air Astana, Fly Arystan and SCAT operate 37 flights per week, Turkish Airlines and Pegasus - 24 flights. Passengers can fly to Istanbul, Antalya from Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Aktau, Aktobe, Atyrau, Shymkent and Turkestan.

From May 13, flights will be increased by 63 flights per week, whereby the number of flights will be doubled (124 flights).

“From May 13, Air Astana, SCAT and Turkish Airlines will increase the number of flights to Antalya and Bodrum. Additional flights will be operated from Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Aktau, Aktobe, Atyrau, Karaganda, Kostanay, Uralsk, Shymkent and Ust-Kamenogorsk,” K. Uskenbaev stated.

SCAT will operate 29 new flights to Antalya from Nur-Sultan (7 flights per week), Almaty (6), Aktobe (3), Atyrau (3), Shymkent (2), Karaganda (2), Uralsk (2), Kostanay (2) Aktau (1), Ust-Kamenogorsk (1). Air Astana will operate 18 flights per week from Nur-SultanAlmaty to Antalya (7 flights each) and Bodrum (2 each). Turkish Airlines will operate 16 flights a week to Antalya from Nur-Sultan (5 flights), Almaty (4) and Karaganda (3), Bodrum - Nur-Sultan (2 flights) and Bodrum - Almaty (2).

According to K. Uskenbaev, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan will held a meeting with aviation  representatives of two countries in order to discuss further development of route network. The negotiations will be held in July in Istanbul. Previously, there were 65 flights a week between Kazakhstan and Turkey before COVID-19.
