MIID discussed with Boeing the possibility of opening the company's training and technical centers in Kazakhstan

Mr. Talgat Lastayev, the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held a meeting with Mr. Monte Fraser, the Vice President of Boeing, where the parties discussed the expected delivery issues of Boeing 737 MAX and 787 Dreamliner aircraft to Air Astana and SCAT airlines.
Then Mr. T. Lastayev and Mr. M. Fraser discussed issues regarding the opening of direct flights between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United States, as well as the possibility of opening Boeing training and technical centers in Kazakhstan.
The parties also agreed on the provision by Boeing of grant technical support to the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan for the accelerated passing the International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA) of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and achieving CAT1 status to launch a direct flight between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United States.
Based on world practice, the average cost of such technical support from special consulting companies is about 2-2.5 million dollars. Within the framework of the agreements reached, already in the third decade of May 2022 the Boeing specialists will visit Nur-Sultan.
In addition, the meeting participants agreed to organize in Kazakhstan a special Boeing training program for young talents in the field of civil aviation.
