From April 25, passengers and crew members are no longer required to wear masks on Finnair flights except as required by national authorities of another countries. If a passenger wants to keep wearing a mask or respirator, he can do so without fear of repercussions.
“Aircraft is regarded as a low-risk vehicle for coronavirus transmission thanks to efficient air conditioning, meticulous disinfection and other factors. However, if you want to have an extra protection for personal reasons, you can always wear an FFP2 or FFP3 mask that provide virus protection even if others on board are not wearing masks,” Kimmo Ketola stated, Medical Officer of Finnair.
It should be noted, many countries still require masks to be worn on board. A list of these countries can be easily found online. For example, masks are still mandatory on flights to/from Asia and to most European destinations.
