Created on 20.04.2022 15:01

American Delta Air Lines Inc. will test the SpaceX's Starlink satellite Internet on board, Interfax-Kazakhstan writes citing The Wall Street Journal. Delta Air believes that the Internet on board has to be ultra fast and free.

At the moment, airlines are actively looking for new opportunities to improve wireless Internet on board. This feature is especially popular among business class passengers, who often need to be online during most of the time. Satellite companies such as Intelsat SA and Viasat provide Wi-Fi equipment for aircrafts.

Reportedly, SpaceX's Starlink satellite unit moves to occupy the aviation travel market. The company has received approval on testing of satellite Internet systems in aircrafts from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the USA. But, the system also needs to be certified by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) prior to the implementation.
