Temporary import of aircrafts carrying foreign delegations will be duty-free in EAEU

The corresponding draft decision of the Eurasian Economic Commission is posted on the EAEU's legal internet portal, inbusiness.kz writes. Temporary import of aircrafts carrying foreign delegations to the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is proposed to be made duty-free.

The project concerns aircrafts using the EAEU foreign economic nomenclature codes 8802 40 003 5 and 8802 40 003 6 (capacity from 50 to 300 seats). Rate of import duty are set at 7.5% and 12.5%, respectively.

Duty-free entry of such liners is offered to be fixed for up to 14 days if aircrafts are used "in non-scheduled flights within the territory of a member state of the Union for transportation of foreign persons participating in exhibition and congress events, international forums, multilateral and bilateral government meetings, international military exhibitions and other similar international events". Public discussion of the document will last until May 7.
