Dubai Airport introduces automatic check-in counters

Emirates has installed 25 mobile check-in counters in Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport. The new check-in ports were developed in the UAE and will enable passengers to independently check-in, weigh and mark luggage, receive boarding passes. Emirates staff will guide passengers at each stage of the check-in process.

The innovative service will be available to Economy, Business and First Class passengers. Emirates officials stated, that check-in ports are not the latest innovation improving the quality of service. The airline is also working on other initiatives based on technology and artificial intelligence that will be implemented in the very near future.

Previously, Emirates launched an integrated biometric system at Dubai International Airport. The Smart Tunnel is the first passport control method worldwide, whereby passengers simply can walk through the hallway and can be screened by immigration authorities without physical contact with controllers and the need for a passport stamp.
