JET2 airline abandoned any masks

Created on 16.03.2022 14:00

British airline Jet2 has waived the requirement to wear masks. This is the first time in the aviation industry because most airlines worldwide are still vigilant about the observance of the masks on their board. According to the airline, passengers are no longer required to wear masks in England and Northern Ireland, but it is still illegal to fly without masks in Scotland.

“The law no longer requires masks to be worn at our airports or on board. However, in line with UK Government guidance, we recommend to wear personal protective equipment in these locations and remember to wear it when you reach your destination", - the message says.

The decision on removing masks was adopted after the UK repealed legal provisions requiring the wearing of face masks in England. Since then, the government has proposed that airlines should set their own infection protection requirements.
