On March 9, 2022, the runway of Aktobe Airport was inspected on behalf of the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairbek Uskenbayev. The inspection was attended by representatives of the Akimat, the Civil Aviation Committee, the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, Aktobe International Airport, Air Astana, SCAT, Qazaq Air.
During the inspection, the commission has identified deficiencies in runway and aerodrome plates, as well as the mastic spallation. Considering the non-compliance with the established requirements, including the flight safety terms, the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan has decided to suspend the operation of this runway since March 17 until the violations are eliminated.
In turn, the akimat is willing to finance the replacement of aerodrome plates and maintenance operations as soon as possible. The airport operator draws up a statement regarding the prior identification of aerodrome plates and develops an action plan for the current runway maintenance.
It should be noted, the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan was established as part of the European model in regulating the civil aviation, thereby providing the compliance with flight safety requirements. The Administration provides technical supervision over compliance with the requirements established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the use of airspace and aviation activities.
