Bombardier's supply chain will not be affected by the Ukrainian crisis. The company is prepared to submit to any sanctions imposed on Russian customers, according to the President of the Canadian aircraft manufacturer Eric Martel.
"Traditionally, 5-6% of supplies occur in Russia and customers from the CIS countries. We'll see what the sanctions will be imposed, as far as we know, these measures do not concern any of our customers. If restrictions are introduced, we will follow them," said the Head of Bombardier.
"Russia is the largest titanium supplier, but the aerospace industry also receives titanium from Japan, Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan. Since 2014, western aircraft manufacturers have been replenishing their raw stocks and were choosing alternative suppliers in case of supply disruptions", said Shila Kahyaoglu, analyst of Jefferies.
