Just three months after placing a large order for more than 100 Airbus narrow-body aircraft, Air Lease Corporation (ALC) is purchasing 50 Boeing 737MAX aircraft.
The new order consists of 32 MAXs (in -8 and -9 variants) plus an additional 18 B-737s, which the company will take in replace of canceled order for three B-787 widebody aircraft. Deliveries of the new aircraft are scheduled from 2024 to 2026.
ALC ramping up its fleet of narrow-body aircraft, expecting sales in that segment this year on the back of a rapid recovery in domestic air travel markets around the world. Last December, Lessor moved a letter of intent for 116 Airbuses, including 25 A220-300 crossovers, 59 A321neo crossovers, 20 ultra-long-range A321neoXLRs, 5 A330-900 wide-body and 7 A350F freighters signed at Dubai Air Show 2021, into a firm order.
