The state-owned airline of Uzbekistan, the Uzbekistan Airways received the most modern narrow-body aircraft in the country, Airbus A321LR. It was leased (rented) from CDB Aviation.

A narrow-body aircraft is considered to be an aircraft with one passage in the cabin between the seats. There are two such passages in wide-body airliners.

On February 14, a new aircraft arrived from Hamburg, where the Airbus plant is located, to the base airport of the Uzbek air carrier in Tashkent.

The A321LR can carry up to 240 passengers, but in the version for Uzbekistan Airways it has 188 seats: 16 in business class and 172 in economy class. Salons are separated from each other by stationary partitions.

Business class has four seats in a row, while economy class has six seats in a row. There is no entertainment system in the seats, but there are USB ports for charging electronic devices. Before departure, passengers can download entertainment content to their gadget, and then charge it in flight as needed.

LR in the model name stands for Long Range. The A321LR received extended range with three additional fuel tanks. These allow it to fly at a distance of up to 7400 km. This indicator will allow Uzbekistan Airways to use the airliner on flights to any countries in Europe, the Middle East, India, Thailand, China and Korea.

By the end of the year 2022, the Uzbek air carrier will get four more such aircraft from the plant and increase their number in the fleet to five units.
