Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the United States of America for air traffic

The Head of State signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the United States of America for air traffic. The main objective of the agreement is to ensure a legal framework for opening direct flights between Kazakhstan and the United States.

According to the IATA's recommendations related to the legalization of air traffic and the proposals of the American side, the parties can operate flights without restrictions on the number of airlines, destinations and frequencies, including with the fifth degree of air freedom.

This agreement is the first in the history of the country related to the open skies mode, indicating that any Kazakhstan airline will be operating with an unlimited number of frequencies from any city of Kazakhstan to any US city, including cargo flights between US points and any points outside the United States.
