Airbus, Gazprom, Aeroflot, S7 Group, Volga-Dnepr, national research centers and aviation scientific institutes have established the Eurasian SAF Alliance, which will develop a roadmap for the production and use of "green" fuel in Russia until 2024.
The Eurasian SAF Alliance will be a joint open-source platform for industry participants along the entire SAF chain: from fuel manufacturers, airlines, airports, aircraft and engine manufacturers to research and development organizations. The alliance's contribution will support the global community's efforts to mitigate implications of climate change. An important research site will be the Gazprom Industrial Innovation Technology Center in St. Petersburg.
The Eurasian SAF Alliance is an ongoing initiative of the alliance members to implement the principles of sustainable development, aimed to develop the aviation sustainable transport and the gradual decarbonization. The environmental agenda is becoming one of the most important topics in aviation industry.
