Airbus has completed the structural assembly of the new A321XLR (Extra Long Range) aircraft that could revolutionize the aviation market. Unlike the base model A321s that is operated for medium-range flights, the A321XLR can operate up to 8,700 km, allowing to perform non-stop flights from Kiev to New York, Toronto, Madagascar, Seychelles, Sri Lanka.

The new aircraft from Airbus can accommodate up to 200 passengers in comfortable conditions, thereby enabling airlines to offer long-haul direct routes. Besides, Airbus has installed an additional fuel tank that holds 12,900 liters of fuel in the fuselage tail section.

Airbus has completed only the structural assembly of the aircraft by connecting the fuselage with the tail, wings and landing gear. Further, all the equipment must be installed into the aircraft, including an additional equipment for recording data. Pilots will start static ground testing upon completion of all the related formalities. The first flight is scheduled for 2022 and commercial deliveries for 2023.
