Global airlines may need 39 thousand aircrafts by 2040

By 2040, world airlines will need 39,000 new passenger and cargo aircrafts. This forecast was shared by the European aviation concern Airbus, kursiv.kz writes.
It is expected that more than 15 thousand of 39 thousand new aircrafts will be replaced. As a result, mainly commercial aircrafts of the latest generation will be operated in the world. The forecast also notes that global airlines' passenger traffic would return to the pre-crisis growth rates by 3.9% owing to economic development and trade worldwide, including the tourism sector. The fastest growth is expected in Asia through the domestic air traffic of China.
Airbus stated that the demand for cargo transportation, driven by Internet commerce, will be increased by 4.7% annually. In general, 2,440 thousand cargo aircrafts will be needed for the next 20 years. Over the same period, the industry will require more than 550,000 new pilots and 710,000 technicians.
