On the opening day of the Dubai Airshow 2021, the American private investment fund Indigo Partners has ordered 255 Airbus A321neo aircrafts, surprising the public against the backdrop of the crisis.
Indigo Partners acquires aircrafts for the four low-cost airlines, being their main shareholder - Hungary's Wizz Air, America's Frontier Airlines, Mexico's Volaris and Chile's JetSMART. Industry experts point out that one of the important consequences will be the reaction of other market players. Apparently, they will be forced to revise their fleet expansion plans in response to the expansion of competitors. According to Airbus COO Christian Scherer, all slots for A321 production are completely sold out.
