Emirates (Dubai) was the first company that signed a contract with the IATA on the use of the IATA Travel Pass mobile app across their global route network, thus becoming the first airline in the world that started following the digital medical pass on all the continents, ATO writes.
Airlines such as Etihad Airways (UAE), Jazeera Airways (Kuwait), Jetstar, Qantas (both Australia), Qatar Airways (Qatar) and Royal Jordanian (Jordan) also have joined the phased e-solution. The IATA's passport testing took place over eleven months, including 76 airlines. Currently, the IATA Travel Pass is operating under the working phase.
The app provides the vaccine certificates from 52 countries (accounting by 56% of global travel). This number is expected to be increased up to 74 countries by the end of November, representing 85% of global traffic. The association believes the IATA Travel Pass would play a key role in resuming the aviation industry as borders open.
