The International Air Transport Association (IATA) predicts that losses of global airlines in 2022 will be decreased by 4.5 times compared to the 2021 ($ 11.6 billion), Interfax-Kazakhstan writes.
At the same time, IATA has worsened the forecast regarding the losses in 2021while revising the loss assessments for 2020. In 2021, the total number of passengers is expected to be reached by 2.3 billion, and in 2022 this figure will be increased by 3.4 billion, representing the level of 2014. IATA looked forward to continuing the sustained aviation traffic.
“We have already passed the deepest point of the crisis. However, substantial challenges are still remained, but the path to recovery is becoming increasingly evident”, Willie Walsh said, IATA’s Director General.
