Almaty airport will spend $ 780 million for modernization

The estimated value of investment program regarding the upgrade of Almaty international airport is $ 780 million, as reported by the Azattyq Rýhy with reference to the press service of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).
"According to the modernization plan, "TAV Kazakhstan" LLP intends to construct a new terminal and update the existing airport by expanding the capacity, developing routes, increasing the number of flights, improving the quality of service", the message says.
The project implementation will provide more than 1,000 new workplaces. The new airport terminal will be the first airport in Central Asia to be certified under the Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE) program. According to TAV Airports, a new terminal will comprise international practices in applying EDGE standards, including the resource efficiency through the high-quality insulation materials, water-efficient equipment and best practices for reducing greenhouse gases, noise, light, waste and air pollution in accordance with the IATA's recommendations.
