British Airways cancelled the catering on board

British Airways has decided to abandon in-flight catering trolleys from their aircrafts on short-haul routes. Thus, UK airline passengers will make a pre-order food and drinks if traveling in Economy Class.
Previously, meal boxes were loaded based on the number of tickets sold. Now, food will be available for those who have pre-ordered a food. The implicit cause of the rejection is simple - concern for the environment. The new scheme will enable to reduce the amount of food waste by several times, providing a meal exclusively upon request.
Passengers will be able to make an order from their smartphone: specifying the date, flight number and seats, then selecting the menu items, paying the total amount by card and, finally, get lunch or dinner on the board. The airline has recently presented new menu, designed by Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge.
