The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer SA will be contributing significantly to reduce the carbon footprint by 2040 compared to 2018, Interfax-Kazakhstan writes. The concern would seek to ensure that all their issued aircrafts might use more environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional fuels by 2030.
Currently, Embraer's aviation fuel is more than 60% of the company's carbon footprint. In addition, the company will be working to adapt its off-the-shelf aircrafts to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) along with permanent SAF's supply that is regarded as being expensive.
Embraer was founded in 1969 supported by Brazilian government. Currently, the company is the third largest commercial aircraft manufacturer in the world by total revenue. Embraer employs approximately 18 thousand people.
