According to Brand Finance, the total value of 50 airline brands has been reduced from $ 108.6 billion (2020) to $ 72.9 billion (2021). This segment has become one of the worst section affected by the COVID-19 pandemic since the international traffic has been almost completely suspended. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) suppose that global passenger traffic will be restored to pre-pandemic level no earlier than 2024.

“Low-cost airlines will be able to recover their figures in the future. As predicted, brand value has fallen sharply in all directions. Since the market recovery is closely related to vaccination rates, we would oversee that short-haul carriers will be recovered faster than long-haul carriers”, said Savio D'Souza, Director of Valuation for Brand Finance.
