Alitalia's successor is ready to launch in October

ITA (Italia Trasporto Aereo), the Alitalia's successor ( Italian national carrier) is preparing to start flights on 15 October. The airline's board of directors managed to agree on a business plan with the European Commission.
Currently, the ITA fleet consists of 52 aircrafts. According to the company's business plan, the fleet will be increased to 78 aircrafts by 2022 . By the end of 2025, as new generation aircraft become available, the fleet might reach 105 aircrafts.
The Alitalia brand will be sold through an open tender. ITA intends to compete for a historic name as "the brand is an integral part of our project". Moreover, the new airline has announced about finding a single strategic partner for aircraft acquisition, thereby negotiating with major partners on this issue.
