Second national airline will be launched in Saudi Arabia

According to the Interfax-Kazakhstan with reference to Al-Monitor, the Saudi Arabian government has announced their plans to launch a second national airline. The comprehensive strategy aims at presenting the Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub, connecting three continents. In addition, the creation of a new airline will enable such tourism directions, as Hajj and Umrah.
With the emergence of the second airline, the government intends to increase the number of destinations up to 250, thereby adding new cargo opportunities in the aviation sector by increasing 4.5 million tons per year. The new airline is expected to serve international tourists and business travelers, and the Kingdom's flagship airline, Saudia, based in Jeddah, will be re-focused on religious tourism.
