United Airlines has ordered 270 new aircrafts from US manufacturer Boeing and European Airbus in a decade. The deal includes the delivery of narrow-body airliners: 50 units of Boeing 737 MAX 8, 150 units of 737 MAX 10 and 70 units of Airbus A321neo, aimed at operating of 189, 230 and 244 passengers at once.
Almost all the airliners will be built in the United States. Using new aircrafts, United Airlines intends to replace the outdated medium-haul aircrafts and the small regional aircrafts operated on the airline's routes. As a result, fuel consumption will be reduced by 11% per seat, thereby improving a comfort on board.
All the new aircrafts commissioned by United Airlines will be delivered with new cabins and entertainment travel options, including seats equipped with in-flight entertainment system and power sockets, LED lighting, Wi-Fi for high-speed internet access during the flight and oversized carry-on luggage compartments. The new entertainment system can be linked via Bluetooth to passengers' wireless headphones.
