EASA has recommended to cancel tests and quarantine for vaccinated passengers

Created on 29.06.2021 10:42

The main aviation regulator of Europe, EASA, has urged countries to stop testing and quarantine those travelers who have been ill with COVID-19 or have been fully vaccinated against coronavirus in the past six months. New measures are reflected in the new version of the COVID-19 Aviation Health Safety Protocol developed jointly with the European Disease Prevention and Control Center, avianews writes.

If vaccinated or affected travelers arrive from high-risk countries, then antigen express-testing can be used for additional verification before departure or upon arrival. In addition, EASA has offered to check vaccination certificates only once - before departure. Refusal of multiple checks will avoid queues at control points.

It should be noted, COVID-19 Aviation Health Safety Protocol is not a mandatory document, allowing each European country to implement its own rules. However, many states pay attention to the EASA recommendations, using them as a basis. The new version of the document includes recommendations related to the mandatory wearing of masks and the compulsory distance of 1 meter, where possible.
