The importance of aviation security culture has been referred in subsequent Assembly resolution adopted at the 40th ICAO Session. The Assembly encouraged the ICAO to continue developing aviation security awareness, thereby strengthening aviation security culture by making this goal as a priority and proclaiming 2020 as the Year of Aviation Security Culture under the ICAO auspices. However, the ICAO Council has agreed to hold the Year of Aviation Security Culture in 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Since the event requires a joint global effort, Member States were encouraged to support activities in collaboration with industry and other civil aviation organizations. In this regard, the JSC Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan held a round table on the topic "2021 - the year of Aviation Safety Culture" attended by civil aviation representatives of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including Civil Aviation Committee of the MIID RK, the Civil Aviation Academy, "Kazaeronavigatsia" RSE, Aviation Safety Training Centers, deputy chief executives of airports and airlines, aviation security officials. The conference was held at the ICAO Aviation Training Center in Almaty.
