American aviation concern Boeing will pay a fine of $ 17 million to resolve claims of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in connection with the issues identified by the regulator in the aircraft production of 737s. The report referred to violations, involving aircrafts produced from 2015 to 2019, Interfax writes.
The regulator has revealed, in particular, that the control system of 759 Boeing aircrafts were used sensors that have not been approved by federal regulators. In addition, the company was seeking approval for 178 aircrafts produced with potentially defective components in the aircraft wing structure, the FAA stated.
To resolve the FAA's claims, Boeing agreed to adopt a number of measures to strengthen internal product quality control. In particular, the aviation concern will need to evaluate whether it itself or its suppliers are ready to safely increase production of 737 aircrafts. The aviation concern could face another fine of $ 10 million if it does not comply with the terms of the agreement with the FAA.
