The President of the Uzbekistan called on the EAEU to fully restore passenger air and rail services

At a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the President of the Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev called for the resumption of regular air and rail links between the EAEU countries.

In his introduction, he noted that the transport and transit sector is a accelerator for deepening economic ties, therefore, issues of accelerated passage of goods across borders need to be resolved, it is also necessary to improve border crossing procedures.

"The time has come for the resumption of regular passenger transport communication - air and rail", - Sh. Mirziyoyev emphasized.

He also expressed Uzbekistan's interest in expanding the practice of providing mutual preferences for transportation and transit of goods.

Uzbekistan granted the status of an observer state with the Eurasian Economic Union during the summit of this organization on December 11 last year.
