Silk Way Airlines has ordered five new Boeings

Silk Way Western Airlines from Azerbaijan has ordered five new Boeing 777F in order to expand its fleet. The model chosen is the largest dual-engine cargo aircraft that can transport 102 tons at a time over a distance of up to 9,200 km, thereby enabling the airline to diversify its operation works, according to avianews.

Silk Way's fleet now consists of large aircrafts: five Boeing 747-8 and seven Boeing 747-400. The use of the 777F will allow company in operating routes that are less loaded. The ordered liners will be available from 2023 to 2027. Silk Way has become the first 777F Boeing's customer in Central Asia and the Caspian region.

The airline was established in 2012, operating in cargo transportation, based in Baku. During the year, its fleet transports 350 thousand tons of cargo.
