The European Parliament voted for COVID passports

The European Parliament has brought the introduction of COVID passports one step closer: in the last days of April, parliamentarians voted for the EU certificate system application, the news agency ATO writes.

The EU COVID-19 certificate is an updated and renamed version of the European Commission's Digital Green Certificate initiative, regarding which the aviation community has expressed high expectations as a way of lifting quarantine restrictions.

The tourism and aviation industries were encouraged by the voting results that would make it possible an effective interaction among the European Parliament, the European Commission and the Council of Europe.
