Uzbekistan Airways will be divided into full-service and low-cost companies

The national airline Uzbekistan Airways has announced transformation plans by focusing on its operational efficiency. Actually, the carrier will update and optimize its fleet by launching a low-cost transportation.

The presented strategy in improving the company's efficiency includes a set of cost-saving measures by $ 46.5 million per year and by raising incomes up to $ 40 million. Uzbekistan Airways will be switched to a hybrid business model, including the existing full-service and some low-cost flights.

The company intends to launch low-cost transportation from the third quarter of this year, using four Airbus A320s by increasing its capacity from 150 to 174 passengers.
