The IATA has worsened the global forecast of airline losses up to $ 48 billion related to the coronavirus pandemic, according to the Time.
“According to IATA's expectations, the aviation industry will have a net loss of $ 48 billion in 2021, approximately $ 10 billion more than previously predicted. Losses were revised due to flight restrictions between countries associated with new CVI outbreaks and mutations related to this virus”, the association’s press service stated.
The largest financial losses are expected in Europe - $ 22.2 billion against $ 34.5 billion. Africa will have the smallest losses in 2021 - $ 1.7 billion against $ 2 billion in 2020. Moreover, the IATA notes that governments where the pace of vaccination has been accelerated are very cautious about the resumption of tourism, thereby fearing the bringing of new types of the virus.
