Europe will not receive tourists until August-September

According to the Tom Jenkins, CEO of the European Tourism Association (ETOA), European countries will not open their borders until August-September, news agency kursiv.kz writes.
“Currently, many countries are trying to allow tourists to travel by the end of May, but I suppose that several destinations will be closed by that time. June and July are the earliest months when Europe might be opened”, he stated in an online conference. The expert also noted that the travel industry worldwide is in the ongoing crisis due to uncertainty.
ETOA combines approximately 1.2 thousand companies operating in the tourism industry, including tour operators, travel agencies, host companies, online travel agencies. Previously, experts from the international market research company Euromonitor International have conducted a global travel review upon which the industry severely affected by the coronavirus pandemic might be resumed only in 2022 in compliance with strict conditions.
