The US aviation community urges the state to launch a plan for resumption of international traffic

Several US aviation industry groups have urged authorities to develop a risk-based plan in order to gradually ease restrictions on international traffic by May 1,2021. The main reason for this requirement is the reduced morbidity and mortality from COVID-19 in the United States, as well as the accelerating mass vaccination.
Industry organizations representing the interests of airlines, airports, aircraft manufacturers and travel companies have already sent a public letter to the presidential administration, whereby they noted that "social pressure on the health care system of the country is decreasing", given the voluntary biosecurity measures taken by all participants in the aviation industry. They also stated that the industry community is not calling for the removal or ease of "key public health measures" such as masking, social distancing and testing of arrivals, which have been implemented to prevent and control the spread of the virus.
The document consists of elements that should be integrated into the plan. One of them is a certificate of vaccination or a certificate of a negative test, aimed at replacing quarantine measures. Currently, the Disease Control Center (CDC) requires everyone arriving in the country to be quarantined for seven days, regardless of test or vaccination results. Among the organizations that have signed the public letter are: the Aerospace Industry Association, the American Airport Executives Association, the Cabin Crew Association, the Global Business Travel Association, the National Air Transport Association and the Regional Airlines Association.
