International flights are expected to be operated in the second quarter of this year, according to the IATA's CEO Alexander de Juniac, Interfax writes.
According to him, tourist industry would move forward after the opening of the borders. The business segment will be recovered more slowly and by the end of the year the overall number of travelers would still be lower than pre-COVID-19 levels.
“Apparently, we would oversee changes in the aviation industry after May or June. At the moment, IATA is already working with countries on developing and planning the protocols and roadmaps for opening borders,” said Mr. Juniac. In particular, he mentioned the Travel Pass mobile application developed by the association, whereby a passenger might see his vaccination history and the results of coronavirus infection tests.
